Ecoventures brings promising ideas to the market. It commercializes the innovative products, systems and services developed within the Econcern group. This is done by establishing dedicated companies which can take prototypes to commercial maturity, often together with strategic partners, or selling licenses. Ecoventures has all the entrepreneurial and commercial competencies needed to make sustainable energy development a success.

The main Ecoventures companies are:

  • Betronic - design, manufacturing and services of electronics for home automation, energy and telecom systems, transport, logistics and leisure
  • Bio MCN - manufactures bio-methanol
  • DarwinD – manufactures offshore wind turbines for offshore, based direct drive
  • ENDON – provides a system to earn money with a CHP, bio-energy installation or emergency power supplies
  • Innogrow – manufactures and supplies the Closed Greenhouse
  • NICE International - provides wireless and solar powered multi-service shops in developing countries
  • OneCarbon – originates carbon credits
  • Petroestry - plans to build a biodiesel plant with locally produced rapeseed as feedstock

  • SOL Holding – a joint venture of Econcern and Solon AG – investor in upstream solar production capacity with the companies:
    • Blue Chip Energy - has a key position in the production of photovoltaic modules based on the conversion of silicon wafers into complete solar cells
    • Silicium de Provence – plans to build the first solar-grade polysilicon plant specifically dedicated to the photovoltaic (PV) industry

  • Wave rotor - The wave rotor uses both waves as well as tidal streams to generate electricity from the ocean
  • Urban Turbine - an innovative concept of the vertical axis wind turbine that uses the variation in wind speed, direction and turbulence, thereby delivering a very efficient power conversion
